Hampers - What are Hampers?

Definition: Hampers in Britain are usually wicker baskets made for storing or transporting food for picnics or camping trips. Hampers containing food and drink are also popular as Christmas or celebration gifts. Many food and gift companies will produce Christmas hampers, Easter Hampers and hampers for almost any occasion.

In the US and other parts of the world hampers are called gift baskets, and hampers are used for laundry.
