Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas

Definition: Mushy peas are dried marrowfat peas, soaked overnight in cold water and cooked in boiling water with the addition of a little bicarbonate of soda for 2 hours. The result is a thick mush-like puree of peas.

They are traditionally served with pies, or with fish and chips.
Examples:
On menus as - Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas or Pie and Peas.
