Guide Review - Cook Book Review - Simon Hopkinson - The Vegetarian Option
Simon Hopkinson is one of Britain's leading food writers and his book Roast Chicken and Other Stories was voted one of the most useful cookery books of all time. Vegetarian Option is set to follow this illustrious accolade as one of the most useful vegetarian books.
The book is stacked with recipes using fresh, good-quality produce all appropriate to season and occasion. The ingredients, cleverly, are also paired with ingredients that work well together: tomatoes and olive oil: ginger and spring onions ...et al.
Because the book pays no heed to meat or fish, neither is it a book of vegetables, expect to find eggs, dairy, herbs, spices nuts and grains.
This is not a book simply for vegetarians it is a book without meat and valuable and practical source of meat and fish free recipes. I love it and it is fast becoming one of my favourites.
Here are a few of my favourite recipes from the book.
