Following a successful career as a chef and restaurateur, British born Elaine Lemm is now a well-published writer, teacher and consultant on British food.
Experience:
Although originally trained in Art and Design, Elaine switched career in 1989 while living in France, to follow her passion for food and cookery. After retraining as a chef, including at the Ritz-Escoffier Ecole de Gastronomie in Paris and Manoir au' Quat Saisons in the UK with Chef Raymond Blanc, she set up her renowned International cookery school, Cuisine Eclairée with venues in France, Italy, the UK, US and Sweden. In 1999 Elaine opened her own restaurant, Lemms in North Yorkshire,England which she later sold to pursue a writing and consultancy career. For the past 7 years Elaine has been Food and Wine Editor at Yorkshire Life Magazine and also launched the first food-dedicated magazine in the county. She has written for many leading magazines and newspapers, appears frequently on television and radio speaking about her passion for British food. Elaine is a member of the Guild of Food Writers in the UK.
