I think it is the grey day outside but it most certainly is a day for curling up by the fire with a cup of tea and some sweet treats I feel.
If you are not quite in the mood for a marathon cooking session in the kitchen, whipping up a tray of scones takes hardly any time or effort.
There's such a to-do about making scones when they are in fact so easy. The major problem seems to be over kneading the dough; scones should be made quickly and with a light hand plus have all your ingredients on the cool side (in other words don't have them hanging around a hot kitchen for too long).
Here's my favourite scones recipes and a few tips to help you achieve the perfect scone, am thinking I may go for the cheese scone today... though the fruit ones are tempting. Mmm?
