Of course the weather is poor this weekend, it is a holiday weekend. True to the great British weather, it is windy, raining on and off, and it chilly. So a lazy Sunday it is. There's a delicious aroma wafting its way through the house as my husband is busy cooking a full English breakfast and the smell of the bacon cooking is almost intoxicating; I am finding it hard to concentrate.
As it is a holiday weekend we have decided to indulge in a long, lazy, breakfast - I should really be calling it brunch as it is past 11 o Clock. The table's set complete with cups and saucers and the teapot, and there's a large jar of home-made marmalade sitting proudly in the middle of the table ready for the toast.
Sunday morning is also the day when the tea bags are left in the jar and we reach for the loose leaf, but not today. Am having my current favourite Mad Hatter Tea with its whimsical association to Alice in Wonderland is not only beautifully packaged, it makes a really good cuppa; the tea is strong and flavorful with a rich nutty color. It's so delicious, I'm already on my third cup today.
Time to go .... breakfast's (pardon, I mean brunch) is ready.
