In the last of the Christmas Around Europe series we join Jennifer McGavin, About.com's German Food guide. Jennifer tells us that German tradition calls for two days off, the 25th and 26th, which are used for visiting friends and family and taking long walks in the woods. The traditional dinner on Christmas Day roast goose with dumplings and red cabbage.

Germans bake sweets in November to have goodies for the Advent tray, which can include Checkerboard Cookies, Stollen and Marzipan Potatoes.
