It's a cold, grey day here in the UK and the first heavy snows of the winter are expected overnight, brrr...  I'll not be venturing far this weekend so a good time to be in the kitchen where it's cosy and warm.

Just as I was thinking a few sweet-treats would be good to cheer us up I received a request on the British Food Message Board about Scottish Tablet. Contrary to what the reader thought sounded like something to write on, Tablet is a delicious fudge-like candy; not as chewy as toffee but slightly grainier than fudge.

It is seriously moreish, so anyone with a sweet tooth you have been warned. As it is easy and fairly quick to make I am on my way to do it now and already know when the family find out I'll be very popular.

Hi there

Tablet is amazing. I have a business selling it worldwide and it is very very popular. I still make it to the traditional methods in small 1kg batches! Hard work but the taste is worth it.

We also do Scottish Tablet Wedding Favours….a wee bit different to the usual almonds.

Check out the site http://www.highlandfavours.co.uk

Cheers
