Continuing our Christmas Around Europe Barbara Rolek, About.com’s Eastern European Food guide suggests this delicious gingerbread with its unmistakable aroma.

"When ginger, molasses, cinnamon, brown sugar and flour are combined in just the right proportions and baked, they give up a perfume so characteristic, even a culinary neophyte walking blindfolded into a kitchen could identify it as gingerbread."

Gingerbread Tell-All

Every Eastern European country has its own Christmas traditions. Here Barbara Rolek describes a Polish Christmas with its lovely Star Supper or Wigilia on Christmas Eve.
